100% 35MM FILMDocumentary family photography on film
Unposed. Unscripted. Unrepeatable.
Real 35mm film family photography by Dominique and Liam Shaw. The little things, the unexpected things, the things that feel unmistakably yours.

Family life is full of things nobody could plan. The funny things. The fleeting things. Those tiny moments that say more about a person than any carefully arranged portrait ever could.
Film doesn't make those moments happen. But we love the way it records them: the colours, the grain, the character and the wonderful unpredictability of something real.

No standing in lines. No smiling on cue. No pretending to do something for the camera.
We spend time with your family, watch, anticipate and photograph what we see. Film simply gives those moments another beautiful dimension.
We don't direct. We don't pose. We simply see.A glance. A game. An expression that lasts half a second. Often, those are the photographs that stay with us.

We're brother and sister, and documentary photographers with a shared way of seeing the world.
We normally photograph families together, particularly when working on 35mm film. Two perspectives, one cohesive collection of photographs.
Based in Yorkshire and the North East, we photograph families near home and further afield.
No. Our photography is documentary. You carry on with your day while we quietly photograph what happens.
Film has practical demands, but we're experienced photographers who know our cameras and working methods. We take the same care with every session.
Absolutely. We can photograph entirely on film or combine analogue and digital. We can discuss which approach feels right when you enquire.
Film needs to be developed and scanned before we can prepare your gallery. We'll explain the delivery times before your session.
Tell us a little about your family, where you're based, and what you have in mind. There's no need to have everything worked out.
