We have a conversation.
Tell us about your family and what you have in mind. We can chat about the location, the people involved and whether digital or film interests you.
You spend time together. We make photographs.
At home, out for the day, or in the middle of something worth celebrating. No posing, no performances, and no need to turn your family into something it isn't.

There's no need to tidy the house until it no longer looks like yours. No need to persuade the children to behave differently, or invent activities for the camera.
The things that make your family interesting are already happening. We just need to be there to see them.
A documentary family session doesn't need much preparation. That's rather the point.

We spend time with you, usually photographing together. There's no list of poses to get through. Children can be children, and the day can unfold naturally.
We carefully select and prepare your photographs as a cohesive collection, ready to enjoy through your private online gallery.
The important things aren't always the obvious things.

We normally photograph family sessions together. Not because we want twice as many photographs, but because two perspectives reveal different parts of the same story.
One of us might see the action while the other notices the reaction. Together, the photographs feel like one collection.
We photograph digitally and on real 35mm film. Whether you'd like an entirely analogue session or to mix film and digital, the documentary approach stays the same.
We can discuss the film options, including any additional film and processing costs, when you enquire.
They don't need to! We're not trying to get everyone into a particular pose. Children being themselves is what makes the photographs interesting.
Very little. We'll talk through the practical details beforehand, but there's no need to organise a performance for the camera. Familiar routines work beautifully.
Usually, yes. Photographing together is our standard way of working, particularly for film sessions. If you're working with a smaller budget, ask about individual coverage.
We're based in Yorkshire and the North East, and regularly photograph families at home and further afield. Travel arrangements depend on the location.
Yes. We offer digital, film and hybrid approaches. Film requires developing and scanning, so we'll discuss the appropriate options and costs before you book.
Start by sending us a little information about your family, location and the kind of session you're considering. We'll reply with the relevant details and next steps.
Tell us who you are, where you're based and what you have in mind. You don't need to know exactly what your session will look like.
